I am now eating popcorns while reading this funny squabble between OFGOOGLE and worldman. Come and share my junk foods while reading it here. To be honest I was actually on the prowl for any new scammers on the loose but found this thread instead. They really need to sort out their priorities.  Though I would like to mention when DomainSubway said “I just noticed WorldMan has 1709 posts, about 1300 more than you ofgoogle. Do you really think a scammer would have posted 1700 times before scamming someone? Please don’t answer that…wow!!!” I was a bit surprised.

Some scammers are known to build up their profile to more than 5K posts before starting to scam people so I totally disagree with what he said. That makes no sense.

This is the same case as the scammer abhishek who is a rep beyond rep. So some -ve rep won’t be any use.Lol..

True among all the popular forums DP is probably the most dull,boring, I wanna sleep theme but truth said that probably makes it a bit special. Sites like DP and Sitepoint has a plain template but you can’t say that its a bad thing. Its because DP is probably the easiest forum for you t browse. What do you think?

Seems like the website Digital_point_sucks was hacked recently.This was posted on DP forum and immediately got a lot of traffic when posted. Seems like a nice idea technique to get traffic. I was wondering why did that particular website manage to gain a higher ranking this days and now I see why. They crossed digitalpointing.com for the particular keyword “digitalpoint” ranking in 3rd on google after DP and D-P.net.

Digitalpointing is ranked 4th. Seems like their updated PR3 is doing its magic.Lol..well if thats the case looks like I’ll need to get a few PR7 backlinks asap.

Shamed I got banned or not I could have easily get a few PR backlinks in the BST Section.

Hi, I must congrats myself for getting another ban…Seems like banning is getting too common nowdays. Expected for ban release in this October. Cheers!! At least its not until next year!!Take note however that I will still update digitalpoint as usual. I’ll just press dpf.tl.my and whola!! I will just surf around and take some good threads for reference.

1. Nobody checks the stats and goes I want to buy your website. Only noobs hurry and do that kinda stuff. People doing the business for longtime, actually does their own digging.

2. Scammers don’t give real email,phone number or address it can all be faked. Phone is super easy, there are online sites that you can rent 10-20 phone numbers and have them redirect to one main phone number which is masked. So its like you cloak your url but in this case it is cloaked phone number.

3. Adsense is hard to modify, because basically you will have to go through the whole process of, number of clicks, impressions, how much is epcm and how much you made. They also have to prove 30-90 days pool of income. Unless you have developed a system in Excel which basically does all the work and then transfers it to html then you could probably fool a few. But scammers usually sell their websites for cheap compared to what they show in their adsense.

4. Traffic –> You have lots of ways to catch them.

1. Alexa – I know its not accurate but it gives you a good idea of what to expect.
2. Sources – You can ask them for sources, if they mention Google or Yahoo, then you ask them for keywords that they get traffic for and how much a day.
3. Direct Traffic – You ask them what promotions they have done to get direct typed traffic.

I agree that anyone could get scammed it is rather hard to avoid it. In many cases people get your domain and run away which is something more common now a days.

A good way could be to digg every single info about them and then do some googling.

Google their email
Google their phone number
Google their forum name
Check their forum post count etc.

In 99% of cases its NEW MEMBERS with 2-3 posts and 1-2 itraders that scam people.

Reputated members almost never ever scam people, they know they can make money with their profile by selling their product or by other means, and those that do abuse their account they are mostly hacked DP accounts..

There is no good way to fight the scammers, other then, being alert and not falling for quick cash and always doing ESCROW.

A lot of threads about how long and why members are banned are getting created.

Most of the time you can catch sawz in these threads giving his 2 cents. Ignore the amount of iTrader, rep and posts he has. “Senior members” often give wrong information and he is no exception.

When people ask how long a member is banned for, sawz‘ usual answer is, “If there are no scales in the member’s posts, he’s permanently banned.” Wrong.

There are no scales in any of my posts(I’m banned) yet I am not permanently banned. In fact, most, if not all, of the banned members don’t have scales in their posts.

So, whether scales are present in posts or not, that does not determine the amount of time a member is banned.

After seeing this thread, I did a little browsing.

Sammie blogged about Digital Point on her blog. If you want a laugh and insight on the situation, I suggest you read the post.

DP is definitely digging their grave deeper and deeper.

They need to stop banning members that actually do what they should be doing, like finding scammers and duplicate accounts.

Looks like samantha pia is just like me though; she doesn’t care whether or not she’s unbanned and she won’t be returning to DP…ever.:)

She’s posted a bunch of pictures throughout DigitalPoint and changed them after she got banned. They’re pretty hilarious.

The responses to the Digitalpoint for Dummies thread makes that thread priceless(the picture was posted after the responses were made).

Just in case she decides to change the picture or DP actually uses their brain and just delete the image link(no shit, Sherlock!), I’ll put it here.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I hope DP fails.

Once again, my ban has been extended. lol

This guy is a total douche. I hope something in his ass pops from the dick he’s got shoved up there.

The reason my ban got extended? “Mouthing off about admin.”

Hmm, last time I checked this was my site and I could talk about whoever I wanted however I wanted.

Once again, his ego is bruised. So what does he do? The only thing he knows how – abuse his staff power.

I want him to stay on staff though. The longer he stays, the more scammers will come and get away with scamming. He’ll chase away(ban) all the good ones and weed everyone out till the forum is filled with crap and dies. It’s easy to see that’s where it’s headed and I hope I’m right. It’ll only serve them right. crazy_f@g for abusing his power and Shawn for letting him.

I already had more than 10 people ask why I was banned and it’s not even noon yet.

Well, to clear things up, I’m NOT banned. Everyone knows the vBulletin glitch where some members are shown as banned. I just got thrown into the mix.

If you noticed I’m banned, you probably noticed I’ve been posting. A banned member cannot post.

So once again, I AM NOT BANNED! …………yet………….

I’ve been getting asked this about ten times a day since I’ve been banned.

Short answer – None of your business.

It’s not made public because it’s no one else’s business but the staff and the person banned. This is pretty much the same reason I’m not saying exactly why I was banned; it’s no one else’s reason but mine…oh and the staff.

Long story short – Don’t ask me why I was banned. I won’t tell you.

flashgames00 was banned a while ago and decided to create another account – i have templates

I spoke to him about Digital Point and he admitted he’s been on a duplicate account for 2 months. Being bored and all, I let Digital Point know about his multiple accounts.

He saw the thread I created and told me he’d just get someone else to register him a new account. Genius, right? How can that go wrong? ROFFLEZ!

It seems he has no idea that once he touches his account from his computer, he’ll get banned.

He was banned permanently for duplicate accounts.

“Was there for over 6 months 1300 posts and several trades with perfect rep and was banned because of the network we are on shares the same modem and my roommate created an account and they banned me forever for duplicate accounts. Pathetic 2 people 1 IP = duplicate accounts.”

Well, it’s your responsibility to let the staff know you’re sharing an IP. Though the staff have special powers, they don’t have the ability to read minds.

*Correction* – He doesn’t reply to any emails that are a waste of time. You’re banned, that’s it. Shawn doesn’t care. That’s what the moderators are for so contact one of them instead. Though they don’t always answer their messages either, you have a better chance of getting a response from them.

Remember the DP member, farooqaaa? Neither do I but he made a post on v7n about how much “DigitalPoint sucks!”.

He’s just another one of those sad guys claiming he was “banned for no reason”.

So what did he do about it? He did what all the desperate newbie DP junkies do, he created another account.  WTF? Cool! Then what happened?!

Well he got caught and banned of course…PERMANENTLY!:)

Don’t contact Shawn, the administrator. He’s swamped with enough emails as is and chances are he won’t find yours to be a priority because lets face it, it’s not. Getting banned from DP is no tragedy.

The first thing to do is sign onto DP and read the message in the vB box. “[username] is banned for [reason]. Date the ban will be lifted – [date]“. If there’s a legitimate reason, let it be.

Most times you’ll get banned for acquiring 10 infractions and this happens to a lot of people. Let the infractions expire and just let the ban lift on its own.

If you really feel the need to talk to someone, contact someone here.
