Domain Seller Scam! Mawali

Posted on June 29th, 2008 in Scammers by admin

This DP member Mawali scammed quite a lot of people at this thread.

The scammer’s modus operandi is new to everyone which is buy a reseller account and offer low price to everyone. In this case the buyer bought the reseller account from an Australian company (I won’t tell the name in this post) and offered a $4 domain registration. Then after like perhaps 50 domains x 4 = $200 the scammer will delete the domain and request refund.

In this case however I will say that the scammer has done a lot of mistakes which in turn caused him to get banned from his main reseller. However this still caused many DP members to loose a lot of money as they will need to re-register the domains.

IMHO this scamming needs a lot of time and little money gained by scammer but it is still  a scam. Thus earns a post here on digitalpointing.com. Hope this piece of news will also help for further awareness in the future.

Scammer alert – JediKnight

Posted on June 28th, 2008 in Scammers by admin

jediknight is a scammer (peon) with 2 good ratings and only 8 posts. He scammed SLM-why of his PR5 domain sold at this thread
Yes he is
He will pay via paypal, get the domain and then file a paypal dispute.
Tell him you want to use moneybookers and that asshole will disappear by itself.
Easy modus operandi, get 2 or few good itrader and then scammed at the third. He is targeting people selling PR5 domain at Godaddy like this thread.
Most likely to PM people and offer to buy at BIN.

Most likely will go away if you ask for payment paypal verified via mass paypal. An old fashioned scammer but still works till now. I wonder why?

Scammer Alert: iBold

Posted on December 21st, 2007 in Scammers by admin

With over 1k posts and almost 50 iTrader, this may come as a shock to some but hey, it happens.

iBold has scammed many users out of $250.

First, he claims to offer a proxy site which will make you a “guaranteed”
$125 per month.  Some people have received a site, but are not earning that
amount.  Others, like konidig, have NOT received a site at all!

Secondly, he claims to have internet problems.  This is a lie, because when
you check his profile, it says that he has been logged in recently.

Thirdly, people have contacted iBold by email and PM, and no
response.

Furthermore, the PM’s sent to him by zan23 have been marked as read, which indicates he has read the messages and have chosen to ignore them.

Let this be a lesson to not only look at post count and iTrader when doing
business online.

Scammed by Hacker6194569

Posted on November 25th, 2007 in Scammers by admin

sp360man@hotmail.com is his PayPal ID.

I know i was stupid to trust a guy named “hacker” who post about porn sites on this forum…But i tought that becuz he had 11 pos feedback, he was trustworthy.

Yes it was stupid to deal with a guy named “hacker”. It was even more stupid to deal with him based on his iTrader, knowing his previous posts history was related to porn. That doesn’t exactly spell out “T-R-U-S-T-W-O-R-T-H-Y”.

I wanted to trade 43$ Paypal for 41$ Moneybookers. He pmed me saying he would do it if i went first, because he had 11 pos feedback and i had 3.

There’s your second red flag. You should have resisted and asked him to go first. iTrader is nothing to base deals on. I can buy iTrader for a penny or a blow job if I wanted to.

When they see he is ignoring me, they will probably return the payment to me….Well i hope.

Oh definitely. PayPal is very kind like that.

What do you guys think?
You deserved it.

See thread here.

Scammer Alert: ghost.d0wn

Posted on November 15th, 2007 in Scammers by admin

See, no one wanted to believe me and banned my ass for going against this kid.

ghost.d0wn was a total dick from the start of our deal. I knew something like this was coming.

Looks like he paid some guy $250 for 6 domains, did a chargeback and got the money and domains for free.

This loser even went as far as to do a chargeback on a $0.10 deal. How pathetic.

I wonder how poverty stricken he is to need to do a chargeback for $0.10

Nice job. DP not only condones spam, but scams.

He tried redeeming himself by playing his little violin. Hopefully no one will fall for his pathetic antics.

I noticed he posted an email from “PayPal” saying his account is limited, blah, blah, blah.

A few people said they got those, too and it’s not legitimate. I know they aren’t as I work for a fraud alert site and see these emails posted all the time.

But what happens? Someone(most likely someone he knows or paid) chimed in with their two cents and said the email was legitimate.

Just so everyone knows, it isn’t. Those emails are phishing attempts and you need to be a complete moron or a complete newbie to the internet not to know that.

ghost.d0wn even went as far as to say it’s all PayPal’s fault. Him and his dad say that PayPal seeks out accounts that look easy to limit and pocket their money.

He’s moved onto E-Gold as well. He did a transaction on MSN(smart move) with a guy.

Asked for money and kept pushing the fact that he’s reputable on DP.

He mistyped the account number so he never got the money. When he found this out, the guy doing the deal with him called him a scammer.

What did ghost.d0wn do? Blame it on the other guy and asked for more money.

Don’t do deals with this guy. His PayPal account is limited. He has an excuse book longer than War and Peace. He’s NOT reputable. You’ll be scammed.

Seriously, who signs up on a forum over a year ago, make virtually no posts, do a TON of transactions for only 2 weeks, gets red iTrader, gets their PayPal account limited then gets called out as a scammer multiple times? A scammer does.

whh_84 sent Madaboutbingo $50 via PayPal for $50 via E-Gold but Madaboutbingo didn’t send whh_84 his money.

They spoke through PMs but after Madaboutbingo received the money, he never replied to any other PMs.

Here’s a PM to whh_84 from Madaboutbingo:

DiggBoss Scam

Posted on October 31st, 2007 in Scammers by admin

I was looking through the Domains section, seeing if anyone was in the market for some crappy domains, when I came across [WTS]DiggBoss.com

I was considering buying it yesterday and when I saw this thread I though, “What luck!”

Turns out the OP was a scammer. He’s not even apart of DiggBoss. Just wanted to make easy cash and run.

Luckily, the real DiggBoss admin caught wind of the thread and let everyone know the real deal.

To prove he was indeed the real owner, he hosted the scam thread on DiggBoss.com

Reporting Scammers

Posted on October 31st, 2007 in Scammers by admin

When reporting scammers, make sure to provide proof of the scam.

A start would be providing the link of the deal thread, whatever thread you encountered the scammer in and did a deal in.

This is a perfect example of what NOT to do when reporting a scammer: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=536587

Simply naming names and pointing fingers will not do. Remember, accusing is only makes an ass out of you.

Also, explain the situation. “I gave him E-Gold but he never gave me PayPal!!” doesn’t work.

Link to the profile, link to the deal thread, give detailed information on what happened.
